Karli Krok, LPC
Therapist
It is an honor for me to bear witness to my clients' progress, life milestones, and ultimately-- their healing. St. Mother Teresa described the "poverty of being unwanted, unloved, and uncared for," and because of this, there is no judgment in my sessions. Instead, I collaborate with my clients on treatment goals and tailor my approach to best fit and evolve with their progress. I create an environment to examine these feelings, where they come from, and how to relate to these wounds in a more compassionate way. It is deeply rewarding to provide clients skills that help them detach from negative views about themselves, have healthier relationships, increased confidence, and experience more joy and motivation in life.
I also use a lot of accessible research-backed coping skills (CBT, ACT, DBT) and faith-based resources to help you dive deeper and create positive change in your life. In our work together, I value a sense of cohesion and continuity. Each session builds on the last and even if you come in feeling like you "don’t have much this week," I’ll gently revisit the deeper threads we've explored in the past. Every session makes space for both the progress and the pauses because consistency, curiosity, and connection are what guide the process.
Animals deeply connect me to my inner child and the happiness and curiosity of that time! I have always loved learning about them, and visiting zoos when I travel to new cities. I have early memories of reading books about them and carrying around my wildlife cards as a kid. When I’m not working, you’re likely to find me at my local library because I read every single day, no matter what!
